Description:

Afterschool Programming Fall 2020                     September 10, 2020

  • We are offering Afterschool Programming (AFS) at the following locations: South Strand Recreation Center, Carolina Forest Recreation Center, North Strand Recreation Center, Bucksport Community Center, and the Green Sea Senior Center.

 

  • AFS programming runs Monday thru Friday from 2:30PM – 6:00PM when Horry County Schools are open for in-person instruction.

 

  • In order to provide adequate space to maintain proper social distancing, each site will be limited to 24 total participants, with 12 Group A slots and 12 Group B slots available per site.

 

  • We will be following the SCDHEC Levels of Disease Activity that Horry County School District (HCS) is also following.

 

  • LOW SPREAD- All AFS participants attending Traditional Instruction from HCS can be transported from their school to the AFS site Monday thru Friday.

 

  • MEDIUM SPREAD- In order to match the School District’s scheduling, the will be ‘Group A’ and ‘Group B’ sessions, each limited to 12 participants.

 

  • Group A AFS sessions are on Monday and Tuesday, Group B sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

  • There is no AFS on Fridays during a medium spread week.

 

  • HIGH SPREAD- There will be NO AFS programming during a high spread rating.

 

  • Parents are able to drop their children off between 2:30 and 3:00PM. Children will not be admitted after 3:00PM, no exceptions.

 

  • Parents dropping off a child MUST pre-screen their child prior to drop-off. AFS staff will also be screening children prior to entering the facility.

 

  • AFS staff will perform temperature checks and ask screening questions during drop-off.

 

  • Children being dropped off by a parent will be screened before the parent leaves, allowing them to be sent home immediately if necessary.

  

  • Any child experiencing symptoms will not attend AFS.

 

  • If a child reports to AFS and exhibits symptoms, they will be quarantined and parents/guardians will be contacted immediately.

 

  • Parents/guardians will have one hour from the time contacted to pick up their child. If they do not adhere to this policy, the child will be removed from registration and placed at the end of the waitlist.

 

  • If an AFS participant tests positive, he/she will be quarantined for 14 days and all participants will be notified.

 

  • During AFS, staff and participants must wear masks/face coverings unless circumstances dictate otherwise, such as snack time, eating/drinking, or participating in physical recreation.

 

  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own masks/face coverings. If a child is unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons, a doctor’s note must be provided to the program supervisor.

                                                                                                                              

  • Our facilities will have social distancing markings, one-way entrance/exit when possible, proper signage, outdoor drop-off and pick-up, and hand washing/sanitizing stations available.

 

  • Staff will be performing extra cleaning/sanitization throughout the day.
